Self-massage techniques to de-stress in Antibes
It only takes 15 minutes to experience the power of your hands.
Self-massage of the scalp:
Place both hands on your scalp and mainly use your fingers.
Close your eyes and start at the base of the neck, slowly moving upward in small circular motions with all 10 fingers at the same time.
Try not to massage the hair, but press firmly on the skin so that it moves with the movement.
Cover the entire skull and behind the ears. Using your thumbs, apply firm rotational pressure to the base of the skull where there is a small hollow.
Massage for about 2 to 3 minutes.
Self-massage of the feet:
Let your feet rest for a few minutes in a basin of lukewarm water.
Wipe them off and put on some lotion or oil.
Put one foot on the opposite knee. Start from the arch of the foot.
Apply gentle pressure to the toes and sides of the ankle.
Start massaging your toes. Extend each toe and slowly twist it.
Form a fist with your hand and dig your fingers into the arch of the foot.
With both hands, massage your foot and ankle from toe to knee.
Repeat on the other foot.
Self-massage of the shoulder and neck:
Turn your shoulders slowly in circular motions.
Then move your shoulders back and forth and up and down.
Place one hand on the opposite shoulder and massage gently with massage oil.
Start with the neck and work your way up to the arm.
Use the kneading and friction movements.
Repeat on the other side.
Turn your head in circular motions. Bend your head slightly to one side and massage the neck with your fingertips and palm down to the base of the skull.
Apply firm, slow and small rotational motions.
Try to find the tender points and increase the pressure slowly for several minutes.
Repeat on the other side.
Self-massage by hand:
Warm your hands by rubbing them together.
Apply lotion and use movements as if you were washing your hands.
Begin massaging your palms with gentle pressure in a circular motion.
Then go to the fingers. Turn each finger slowly and gently.
Press firmly on fingertips and fingernails.
Massage between the joints and move towards the wrist.
Massage from your wrist to your elbows.
Repeat on the other side.
